The Board of Governors serves as the governing body of MCS, providing oversight, guidance, and strategic leadership. Composed of experienced professionals, leaders, and stakeholders from various fields, the Board brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Working closely with the Board of Governors, the Senior Leadership Team carries out the day-to-day management of MCS. Comprised of experienced educators, administrators, and subject matter experts, this team plays a crucial role in implementing the school’s strategic vision. They provide leadership, direction, and support to faculty, staff, and students, fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

The Senior Leadership Team oversees key areas such as curriculum development, student support services, faculty recruitment and development, and operational management. Through their collective expertise, they ensure that MCS remains at the forefront of educational innovation and continues to deliver a comprehensive and enriching experience for its student-athletes.

Ms Mariuccia Fenech

Head of School

Mariuccia Fenech is an education professional with a passion for nurturing talent and fostering growth. With over three decades of experience in the field of education, she has built a career journey that culminates in her current role as the Head of School at the Mediterranean College of Sports (MCS)
Mariuccia’s journey in education began in 1991 as a dedicated teacher. Progressing from a classroom educator to an Assistant Head, she has spent the past ten years as the Leader at the helm of an educational institution. Her leadership style is marked by a unique blend of dedication, empathy and strategic insight.

Mr George Micallef

Director of Sport Development and Recruitment

With a career spanning over 30 years in education, Micallef worked as a Physical Education teacher and an administrator. His crowning achievement was establishing Malta's National Sport School in 2012, where he served as the inaugural head for 6 years. His journey also includes an impressive 42-year tenure in sports media, embracing roles as a reporter, newscaster, TV presenter, and football commentator. Holding an MFA B License football coaching qualification, he also shares his expertise by lecturing on Communication and Media for UEFA Pro License and UEFA A License coaching courses.
