The MCS Curriculum Methodology serves as a practical framework that guides our dedicated coaches at each level of youth development, understanding the players stage of biological development and ensuring a progressive and holistic approach to player development. The following are the three distinct phases of our curriculum:

The Mediterranean College of Sport (MCS) offers a dynamic and comprehensive football curriculum designed specifically for student-athletes aged between 11 and 18.
U12-U13
The Skill Acquisition Phase
In this foundational phase, we focus on developing fundamental skills and building a strong technical foundation. Our coaches emphasise individual skill acquisition through structured drills and exercises that promote ball mastery, dribbling, passing, and shooting. We also prioritise cognitive development such as focus, decision-making, visual tracking and understanding of basic tactical concepts. Through a blend of technical training and small-sided games, our student-footballers enhance their technical proficiency and gain a solid understanding of the game. Throughout this phase we also work on fundamental movements such as agility, balance, coordination, speed, flexibility, power and strength.
U14-U16
The Game Training Phase
As our student-athletes progress to this phase, our curriculum shifts towards a more game-oriented approach. We integrate technical skills into realistic game situations, fostering a deeper understanding of tactical concepts and game strategies. Our coaches utilise small-sided and full-sided games to create an environment that encourages problem-solving, team dynamics, and effective communication on the field. During this phase, players develop their positional awareness, game intelligence, and tactical decision-making abilities. As our student-athletes progress to this phase, our curriculum shifts towards a more game-oriented approach. The Performance Phase
In this final phase, our curriculum focuses on refining and optimising performance. We strive to develop well-rounded players who possess the technical, tactical, physical, and mental attributes required for high-level competition. Our training sessions become more demanding, challenging students both physically and mentally. We emphasise advanced tactical concepts, positional specialisation, physical conditioning, and mental resilience. Our goal is to prepare student-athletes for competitive play, equipping them with the necessary skills and mindset for success.
