The Mediterranean College of Sport (MCS) offers a dynamic Athletics (Track & Field) Programme designed exclusively for our student-athletes aged between 11 and 18.

Guided by the principles of long-term athlete development, our programme aims to provide a platform for athletes to reach their full potential, both as athletes and as individuals. We believe in late specialisation, allowing athletes to explore various disciplines within athletics and compete successfully along their developmental pathway.

Our programme follows a gradual and progressive approach, with a strong emphasis on developing core fundamentals during the initial two-year block (Year 7 and Year 8). During this foundational stage, we focus on developing fundamental movement skills, athletic conditioning, and mobility. Our experienced coaches create a nurturing environment where athletes can hone their technique, build strength, and improve their overall athleticism.

As athletes progress through the programme, they are introduced to a wider range of events and disciplines within athletics. This allows them to discover their strengths, interests, and areas of specialisation.

Our coaching staff provides expert guidance and individualised training plans to support each athlete’s unique journey. Whether their passion lies in sprints, hurdles, long-distance running, jumping, or throwing events, we strive to develop well-rounded athletes who excel in their chosen disciplines.

Beyond athletic development, our programme is designed to instil important values such as discipline, resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We foster a supportive and inclusive team environment, where athletes can learn from each other and grow both on and off the track. Our goal is to equip our student-athletes with the skills, mindset, and character traits necessary to become not only successful athletes but also outstanding individuals.
